How to Place an Order With Fungi Perfecti

Fungi Perfecti accepts orders made online at www.fungi.com, by phone (800-780-9126) or though the mail (PO Box 7634, Olympia WA 98507). Please read below for detailed information about each of these ordering methods.

Online Orders

When placing an order online, please be aware of the following:

  • Be sure to provide accurate address and payment information. This includes proper billing and shipping addresses. Failure to provide correct information may lead to delays or cancellations.

  • Please double-check all orders before submitting them. Fungi Perfecti will ship orders as they are received, and expect that customers have ordered the proper products and quantities. Corrections may be made to orders only if Fungi Perfecti is immediately notified of order errors prior to processing and shipping. Do not place duplicate orders, as this will complicate any corrective action needed. Please contact Fungi Perfecti immediately if errors have occurred with your order.

  • Fungi Perfecti must have a valid means for contacting customers, and requires either a phone number or email address for all orders. If an email address is provided, it should be assumed that we may use if for communication pertaining to the order. Failure to provide correct contact information may result in delay or cancellation of an order if we cannot reach you in a timely manner.

  • Fungi Perfecti will process orders as quickly as possible, but we do not guarantee that orders will be shipped the day they are received. If you have an order requiring expedited shipping, please place your order by phone at (800) 780-9126, and our customer service team will provide further details about your shipping options.

  • Prices and other information are subject to change without notice. Fungi Perfecti is not responsible for typographical or graphical errors in print or online. If you have any questions whatsoever about the price, appearance or function of a given item in our product line, we suggest that you contact us with your questions prior to ordering.

Orders by Phone

To contact Fungi Perfecti by phone, call toll free (800) 780-9126, or dial locally (360) 426-9292, and our customer service team will be glad to assist you.

When preparing to place an order by phone:

  • Please have your order prepared. Compiling a brief list of the items that you wish to purchase before calling is very helpful, and will allow us to process your order more efficiently.

  • Have shipping name and address on hand—be sure to include any suite or apartment numbers that correspond with the shipping location. Failure to provide accurate shipping information may lead to loss or delay of delivery.

  • For payments made with credit/debit cards, we will also require the billing address at which you receive your bank statements. Please have this information available when you call.

  • Fungi Perfecti must have a valid means for contacting customers, and requires either a phone number or email address for all orders. If an email address is provided, it should be assumed that we may use if for communication pertaining to the order. Failure to provide correct contact information may result in delay or cancellation of an order if we cannot reach you in a timely manner.

  • Once your order has been properly processed, our customer support members can provide you with an order number for your records, as well as providing estimated shipping times based upon your order.

Orders by Mail

If at all possible, please contact Fungi Perfecti at (800) 780-9126 before mailing in an order so that we can provide a shipping cost for you to include in the total. Failure to include the cost of shipping will result in additional delays, as we must then contact you with such information, and await payment for the balance prior to shipping.

  • Do not write your credit card information down to mail it to us. Unless you are paying by check or money order, you should call us to provide payment information. This is for your security.

  • Include your name and phone number so that we can contact you immediately if there are questions or delays with your order.

  • Provide an accurate shipping address—be sure to include any suite or apartment numbers that correspond with the shipping location.

Payment Methods

  • Fungi Perfecti accepts payments made via credit/debit cards bearing the Visa, MasterCard, or American Express logos. Payments can be made by card both though our secure online order system and by phone at (800) 780-9126.

  • You may also make payments by money order or personal check. Money orders or cashiers’ checks are preferred, as personal checks may delay your order a few days, especially with large orders. Please see "Check Payment Procedures" for further details about this payment option. We accept Purchase Orders from Universities and Schools within the United States and Canada only.

  • All other orders must be paid for in advance. Fungi Perfecti cannot reserve merchandise for customers in expectation of payment. Sorry, no CODs.

Check payment procedure:

If you wish to pay by money order or check, please call us at (800) 780-9126, and we will be glad to calculate the shipping cost and total for your order.

  • Once your order has been calculated, we will also provide an order number—good for up to 2 weeks—to be written on your check or money order.

  • Personal checks may be held for 10 business days before shipping your order. This is a mandatory hold period while the bank processes the funds.

  • Fungi Perfecti can accept checks made out in US funds only.

  • Checks returned to Fungi Perfecti for non-sufficient funds ("bounced" checks) will result in a $30.00 fee. The order will not be shipped until payment for both the original order and the $30.00 NSF fee is received.

Please do not send in orders without first calling to verify shipping costs. This process will allow us to process and ship your order in a timely manner after we receive your payment.

Turnaround Time for Orders

On average, orders are processed and shipped within 3 business days from the time that they are received. When items are unavailable or out of stock, shipment may be delayed until all items are in stock. A member of our customer support team will contact you if there are back orders or other delays.

If you have an order or are in need of expedited shipping, call (800) 780-9126 to place your order by phone, and we will gladly inform you of current availability and shipping options. Orders placed online may not be processed until the following business day, so we encourage customers to call us with expedited concerns.

Shipping

Fungi Perfecti ships through the United States Postal Service (USPS) and through UPS. For orders shipping with UPS service, you must provide a physical address—no PO boxes for UPS packages.

Fungi Perfecti does not guarantee same-day shipping. Unless otherwise specified, we will do our best to find the most cost-effective and appropriate shipping method for the items that you have ordered. If you require immediate assistance with the shipment of your order, please call us at (800) 780-9126, and we will be glad to provide shipping options and timelines for you.

International Orders

Fungi Perfecti is glad to ship to international destinations, however, all international customers are responsible for checking with their country’s import authorities before placing an order. Your country may have restrictions on the import of mushroom products that would prohibit our live items or supplements from being shipped to your location.*

Once you have determined that your country will allow the import of our products, you may place your order online, or by phone. A current phone number is required for all international shipments; please provide a valid phone number with your order.

After you have placed your order, we will contact you with an accurate shipping cost—the cost seen online may not accurately reflect shipping costs, depending on the size and weight of items ordered. Your card will not be charged until accurate costs have been calculated an approved.

Once we have contacted you with an accurate shipping cost, we will await your reply before processing your order. Orders will not be shipped until approval has been received and payment has been made.

Fungi Perfecti cannot calculate or estimate the costs of international duties, taxes, or import fees. International customers will be responsible for all duties, taxes and import fees associated with their shipment

*Fungi Perfecti will not be responsible for foreign shipments that are not permitted due to import restrictions. It is the responsibility of the customer to verify the acceptability of those products that they wish to order prior to placing an order with Fungi Perfecti.

Live Item Terms of Sale

  • Limitation of Liability: Fungi Perfecti warrants to the extent of the purchase price only that the indoor patches, mushroom plug spawn, and outdoor mushroom spawn sold are as described on the label within recognized tolerances. No other warranty is given, expressed or implied, of (1) the suitability of spawn for purposes beyond those endorsed by our instructions or (2) against loss due to factors beyond our control. We cannot accept any responsibility for the many uncontrollable growing conditions and climactic conditions (substrate preparation, environmental contaminants, temperature control, moisture control, etc.) that must be met to insure the success of your mushroom spawn.

  • Indoor Mushroom Patches: Fungi Perfecti guarantees our Indoor Mushroom Patch™ products to perform within estimated parameters, provided that Patches are cared for in accordance with provided instruction booklet and any additional information provided by our customer service support team. If you encounter difficulty, contact Fungi Perfecti promptly—often, we can help!

  • Outdoor Mushroom Patches, Plug Spawn, Sawdust Spawn: Fungi Perfecti, LLC guarantees to our customer that the mushroom spawn will be viable upon receiving. We will replace any spawn stored and used according to this Mushroom Spawn Sale Agreement if the mushroom culture does not demonstrate vitality and purity during the expansion stage. If you experience problems with spawn, please contact us immediately. Due to the many environmental factors beyond our control, Fungi Perfecti cannot guarantee the production of fruitbodies (mushrooms) from our outdoor cultivation products (see Limitation of Liability above). Please be aware that the purchase of our Sawdust / Woodchip Spawn does not include an instructional booklet. These products are intended for knowledgeable cultivators—in purchasing these items, we assume you understand how to use them.   • Hawaiian orders: due to import restrictions in the state of Hawaii, it is necessary to obtain a permit for the importation of live mushroom mycelium into the islands. This affects the sale of Fungi Perfecti’s Indoor and Outdoor Mushroom Patches, Plug Spawn for Log and Stump Cultivation, and Pure Mushroom Spawn and Cultures.

    • Customers in Hawaii wishing to purchase any of these products will need to first apply for and receive an Import Permit from the HSDA Plant Quarantine Branch.

    • The permit can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat format online here. If you have further questions, you can contact Fungi Perfecti or speak directly to Amy Takahashi at the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture, 1428 S. King Street, Honolulu, HI 96814. Phone: (808) 832-0589.

    • Additionally, these import restrictions prohibit all shipment of our MycoGrow mycorrhizal products into Hawaii.

  • Grain Spawn and In Vitro Mushroom Cultures:

    • All grain spawn and cultures are custom produced, and may take between 2–6 weeks to produce, depending on species and availability.

    • Fungi Perfecti requires a signed spawn/culture agreement for all grain spawn or culture orders. Please be aware: we will mail, fax or email you a copy of this agreement as soon as possible after your order is submitted. (Customers will be expected to provide valid contact information. Fungi Perfecti must have a valid means for contacting customers, and requires either a phone number or email address for all orders. If an email address is provided, it should be assumed that we may use if for communication pertaining to the order. Failure to provide correct contact information may result in delay or cancellation of an order if we cannot reach you in a timely manner.) You will then need to sign and return this agreement. We will not begin production of your spawn or cultures until signed agreement is received. Summaries of these agreements can be found below:

Returns Policy

Please do not ship Live Items back to Fungi Perfecti. If you suspect that your Live Item is damaged or defective, contact Fungi Perfecti immediately. Our Customer Service team will assist you.

Fungi Perfecti does not accept returns of live items.

Below, you will find information pertaining to returns of non-live items for various reasons.

Defective/damaged merchandise:

Fungi Perfecti will replace defective merchandise free of charge provided that the following steps are taken:

  • Damaged/defective merchandise must be reported to Fungi Perfecti within 10 business days from the day of receipt. Failure to report damaged/defective products in a timely manner may result in additional fees for replacement.

  • Customers notifying Fungi Perfecti of a return should contact us via phone whenever possible, or by email, fax or mail if this option is not available.

  • When notifying us of a return, please have your order number available (this number will appear as "Invoice No." and will appear on the upper left corner of the invoice included with your order).

  • Having informed Fungi Perfecti of the intent to return product, please ship defective item(s) back to Fungi Perfecti with sufficient and appropriate packaging. Please include the original box and packaging when possible, so that we can assess the package upon receipt.

  • Include a copy of the invoice, along with any other pertinent information (your name, shipping address, phone number, and reason for return). This will increase our ability to process your return in a timely manner.

  • Replacements will be shipped out once defective merchandise has been returned and evaluated for damage. This process will take place as quickly as possible, but may take up to 2 weeks.

Fungi Perfecti will not be responsible for damage incurred to returned merchandise in transit. Insuring expensive items is recommended.

Returns for reasons other than defect/damage:

For returns of this sort, please be aware of the following policies and steps for returning products to Fungi Perfecti:

  • Merchandise being returned for reasons other than defect or damage will be subject to a 4% restocking fee.

  • Fungi Perfecti must be notified of all returns within 10 business days from the day of receipt. Failure to report returns in a timely manner may result in additional fees.

  • Customers notifying Fungi Perfecti of a return should contact us via phone whenever possible, or by email, fax or mail if this option is not available.

  • When notifying us of a return, please have your order number available (this number will appear as "Invoice No." and will appear on the upper left corner of the invoice included with your order).

  • Having informed Fungi Perfecti of the intent to return product, please ship defective item(s) back to Fungi Perfecti with sufficient and appropriate packaging. Please include the original box and when possible, so that we can assess the package upon receipt.

  • Include a copy of the invoice, along with any other pertinent information (your name, shipping address, phone number, and reason for return). This will increase our ability to process your return in a timely manner.

  • Upon receipt of the return package, Fungi Perfecti will calculate return costs, and contact you to verify that a return has been made.

Fungi Perfecti will not be responsible for damage incurred to returned merchandise in transit. Insuring expensive items is recommended.

Refunds Policy

Fungi Perfecti does not offer refunds for live items. Please do not ship Live Items back to Fungi Perfecti. If you suspect that your Live Item is damaged or defective, contact Fungi Perfecti immediately. Our Customer Service team will assist you.

In the event that a refund is approved for your return of non-Live Items, the following protocols shall apply:

  • We prefer to issue a refund in the same form of payment used to originally purchase product. However, this may not always be possible. For example, if more than 30 days have passed since the original credit card transaction for an order, we may not be able to process refund to the credit card. In this instance, would issue refund in the form of a check.

  • When credit card refunds are processed, please allow up to 5 business days for funds to be returned to your account. (This time may vary depending on the processing times required for various financial institutions.)

  • In cases where an "in store" credit is appropriate, we can issue a credit to your Fungi Perfecti customer account. Customers must then call us at (800) 780-9126 to apply such credits towards their next order.

Merchandise Exchanges

Everyone makes mistakes, and we understand that! If you order the wrong size shirt, the wrong style of sweatshirt, etc, give us a call. The following policies and procedures will apply:

  • Fungi Perfecti must be notified in advance of all merchandise being sent back in order to facilitate an exchange.

  • Notification of intent to exchange product should be conveyed within 10 business days from the day of receipt. Failure to notify Fungi Perfecti within this time may delay or alter exchange options.

  • Customers notifying Fungi Perfecti of a request to exchange should contact us by phone whenever possible, or by email, fax or mail if this option is not available.

  • When contacting us to discuss possible exchanges, please have your order number available (this number will appear as "Invoice No." on the upper left corner of the invoice included with your order).

  • At the time of notification, Fungi Perfecti will be glad to provide a shipping total for the exchange to take place. Please include the sum in your package, or arrange to make payment by phone. This shipping cost reflects only the cost that will be charged for our shipment of the replacement item of your request.

  • Having informed Fungi Perfecti of the intent to exchange product, please ship original item back to Fungi Perfecti with sufficient and appropriate packaging.

  • Please note: Fungi Perfecti is unable to accept any item that has been damaged, dirtied, or otherwise made to be less than "new." This would include, for example, clothing exposed to tobacco or heavy perfumes.

  • Please include a copy of the invoice, along with any other pertinent information (your name, shipping address, phone number, payment for postage and reason for exchange). This will increase our ability to process your return in a timely manner.

  • Upon receipt of the product to be exchanged, Fungi Perfecti will assess the item for return to stock. Once the product has been deemed fit for restocking, Fungi Perfecti will be glad to ship the agreed-upon exchange item to you.

Privacy Policies

Internet Privacy:

Fungi Perfecti does not record or track the Internet identity of individuals visiting our Web site. Our Internet Service Provider does track the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computers accessing our site, and makes that information available to us. However, there is no way for us to determine from this information the email address or other identifying data of any individual Web surfer accessing our site. For instance: if you are an America Online subscriber and visit our site, our ISP will record that Fungi Perfecti Online was visited by x.x.x.x (where x is a number) or cache-xxx-xxx-proxy.aol.com, not (yourscreenname)@aol.com.

Fungi Perfecti's Online Store requires the customer to enter their name, address, telephone number and email address in order to purchase products online. This information will not be sold, rented or otherwise dispensed to any other individual, organization or company, except as noted below under "Mail Privacy."

Our Online Store relies on cookies, electronic "ID badges" sent by the server and placed on your computer. It is through cookies that we are able to provide customers with such amenities as order status and automatic form completion. Neither Fungi Perfecti nor the host of our online store use these cookies to track customers outside of the store, nor is any of the information contained in cookies offered or distributed to any other individual, organization or company.

Fungi Perfecti will often record the email address of anyone requesting a catalog or other information via email, to facilitate future communications. Fungi Perfecti does not make this address available to any other individuals, organizations or companies.

Mail Privacy:

Fungi Perfecti does not sell, rent or otherwise distribute contact information for our customers to any other parties, with the following exception: we will, on occasion, make a carefully delimited selection of addresses from our customer database available, for one-time use only, to individuals or organizations offering a service or event directly pertaining to the cultivation, collection or study of mushrooms. Said individuals/organizations are not permitted to retain or distribute the contact information given to them to any other parties under any circumstances.
